Olympus AZ-1 Zoom Review

I’ve been really determined to go back to my roots with photography and rekindle the wonderment I had when everything was new, so I’ve been picking up and shooting on a few old 35mm film cameras. I picked up this Olympus AZ-1 Zoom from eBay for £3.99. I had no idea whether it was any good, or even if it would actually work, but for that price it was worth the risk.

First retailing in 1987, the AZ-1 Zoom was Olympus’ first compact camera to feature an integrated zoom lens. For a point and shoot camera, it was pretty advanced, with a macro mode, continuous shooting, and a viewfinder that zoomed along with the lens.

Apple Watch Review

I’m a self confessed Apple junkie. I’ve well and truly bought into their eco-system. Back in late 2016 I added to my collection, the newly released Apple Watch Series 2. I realise I’m late to the party with this review since not only has it been replaced by the Series 3, but that’s been replaced by the Series 4! Having said all that, I have now had 2 years experience with the concept of ‘wearable tech’, so as much as this will be review of the Apple Watch, I’m also going to talk about how I feel about smart watches in general.

Carnivore Diet - Week Nine

I started week 9 of my carnivore diet experiment with a trip to the butcher. I got myself a big slab of ribeye and for the second time, 3 slices of calves liver. Liver is still not my favourite, but it’s so healthy I’m gonna hopefully get used to it. Would help if I could work out how to present it in a more attractive way haha!

So steak and liver for dinner was my first meal of what would turn out to be an interesting week for this diet.

The majority of people see a photograph as a true and realistic depiction of a scene or person. What they might not be aware of is that it's actually an illusion. Real life is three dimensional. We can see distances due to having two eyes, which also allows us to determine whether things have depth or mass. A photograph is a two dimension interpretation of a three dimensional scene. To compensate, photographers use all manner of tricks to capture either the look and feel of real life, or to create a fantasy world. Either way, it's all an illusion.
