Blogiversary!

 2007 First Blog Post Ever

Despite only returning to the whole blogging thing a few weeks ago, turns out today is a bit of a birthday. My first ever blog post was December 15th 2007... literally 10 years ago!!!!

Now obviously I’m not claiming to have blogged consistently for the entirety of the past 10 years. I haven’t blogged at all (besides the odd Guest blog on other people’s) for he past 4 years, but it’s still kinda crazy to think about the idea of blogging being that old, when we still talk about it being a ‘new thing’.

It’s fun to look back at where I was 10 years ago. I’d just swapped my LG Prada phone for the brand new first ever Apple iPhone! For anyone that doesn’t remember, this thing didn’t have 3G, and you couldn’t even send picture messages on it!

Facebook was only just starting to rival MySpace, Tumblr was less than a year old, Youtube videos weren’t HD or even widescreen yet, and Instagram wasn’t going to be around for another 3 years!

I was significantly fatter than I am now, despite at the time, doing loads more exercise than I do these days, and on top of that, my personal style was more than questionable!

It’s at this point a lot of people, after looking back, begin to look toward the future. I used to be one of those people. Lately, I’m trying to make more of an effort to focus on the present. Who am I right now. I’m not saying I don’t have goals, but it’s more important to me to start enjoying the journey and the process of reaching those goals. I didn’t have a goal when I started blogging. Follower numbers weren’t really a thing (beyond MySpace top 8 friends obviously). That evolved over time, and may have contributed to why I lost interest. Either way, right now it’s about the enjoyment of journaling my life, my thoughts, and my experiences. As much for myself as for anyone who happens to read any of it.
